Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/lRB.2ACE/895.1.2 Message Board Post: Oh, I forgot to mention that Oyster Bay Town and Hempstead Town (both early Queens Co.) would not be considered New York City and thus none of the areas you are trying to research in connection with the Richard Totten family would be found in the NYC records (unless someone in the family married someone from NYC and that's where the marriage certificate was filed). I have seen Oyster Bay and Hempstead Town Records books (microfilmed) at the Family History Center and I have see Land Deed and Will Record books from early Queens County on microfilm (again thru the FHC). All were VERY helpful with much of my research. What I am frustrated over is the lack of vital statistic records for early Queens county. -Janet
