    3. In 1922 the Freeport Cemetery (sometimes referred to as the Freeport Presbyterian Cemetery) was condemmed and approximately one thousand graves were opened and the remains were reinterned at Greenfield Cemetery. In 1913 William A. Eardeley made a record of some burials by viewing gravestones around the Presbyterian Church. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jdevlin/newyork/freeport_ny_cem .htm. However, he only recorded 20% of the total number of interments. I am in the process of doing research on the history of the Freeport Cemetery and the controvesy surrounding it's condemnation. I am hopeful that at some point I may have this paper published in a historical journal dealing with New York or Long Island. I would like to try to reconstruct a list of as many of the original burials as possible. Please email me at Dianejoseph@earthlink.net if you have the names of Freeport interments and removals other than those recorded by Eardeley http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jdevlin/newyork/freeport_ny_cem .htm. Thank You, Diane
