And I just found him on the ship "Atlantic" coming to the States in 1870 from England. By trying to find out info on a union or bricklayers association I was hoping to find out more about his life- why he came to the States, did he work locally in Glen Cove or in the City, etc. I have not taken the time (really it's the money) to find his marriage record to his wife Ella (her last name is listed as Pollitt on their son's Socoal Sec. app.) or death certificates for the two (she is not with her family in the 1900 census). Are you familiar with either the bricklayer trade or the family name? Thank you for the reply
