There are only 2 of us really searching this out so I cant imagine anyone actually knowing anything and now I found you thank god. Do you know the Mc Couns?

Then your parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. With each tier of information, you may want to pull or request documents for your files. I use a notebook. I usually request marriage, military, birth and death certificates for immediate family. If you know a relative lived in a particular location, you can search census records. You can also post on the message boards and hope that another distant family member is researching the same family. I like to do a little historical research with each tier. With the living parents or grandparents, you may want to tape record their family history. These can be notes that you add to your book.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lRB.2ACE/484.1 Message Board Post: Your problem might be poor wording from your source. Manhasset is an unincorporated area within the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, and there isn't a Manhasset Town Hall - but the North Hempstead Town Hall is located at 200 Plandome Road, Manhasset 11030. Go to http://www.northhempstead.com/town_clerk/ for info on getting copies of records. Copies of these records also should be on file in Albany.

    1. [NYNAS ] Westbury Station - New Cassel - Death Cert
    2. I should have included in my last e-mail... I wrote to the Town of N. Hemopstead for a "COPY" of the 1900 Death Certificate. They responded with a "TRANSCRIPTION" of the document. It did not contain certain info obtained from NYC certificates, such as: 1. address 2. informant 3. Mother's maiden name (it may not have been known) etc. Do they have a policy of not suppling copies of the original document? Do the TRANSCRIBE all information on the document? Is what I was given the best I can expect? Subj: Westbury Station - New Cassel Date: 1/9/2003 1:50:05 PM Eastern Standard Time From: AlbertSomers01 To: [email protected] My G-Grandfather and family are listed in the 1900 census as living in "Westbury Station". He died on June 8, 1900 as having died in "New Cassel". Would this area be considered one and the same? or Are they seperate areas?
