    1. [NYMONTGO] FHC/LDS indefinite microfilm rentals.

    3. Mark! As far as I know FHC/LDS only loans films for customer use at their locations. Many locations, but not all of them, allow you to indefinitely ("permanently") loan and store the microfilm. But you don't get to "keep" them yourself. They must be stored and viewed on location. If there's an FHC that's not too terribly inconvenient for you to get to once in a while, it's worth making the trip every so often. Also, they usually don't do anything through the mail (i.e. you must go there and hand them the money in person to rent the film... can't call it in over the phone). If you've never been to one, it's worth at least one trip to see what they have available, then you'll be able to better plan any future research trips to the FHC. For your first trip, plan on getting there early and, if you can, call ahead (at least a few days before) and make arrangements for a volunteer to show you "around". This way you should get a good overview of their material, both what's on-hand and what's available to rent. You can also view a small amount of their material on their website at: <http://www.familysearch.org/> Hope this helps, Lisa At 02:39 PM 8/25/00 -0400, you wrote: > > >Carol, > >In my experience Sampubco's copies have been the best you can get with >microfilm.
