Helen, The following is from Abraham Hatfield's book: The Hatfields of Westchester County, 1935. p. 96 Stephen Hatfield (Absalom4, Peter3, Peter2, Thomas1), was born on June 20, 1800 at Coeymans, Albany Co. NY where his father settled for a time. He was a blacksmith and farmer and lived a Farmington, Ontario Co. and at Macedon, Wayne Co., NY. He married (1) Mar. 12, 1822, Phebe Priest, of Schoharie Co., NY; married (2) Oct. 16, 1855, Eleanor Seymore; married (3) the 27 of the 12th month, 1860 at Farmington, Ruth (Clackner) Sheldon ..... Stephen Hatfield was a Quaker. more.... p. 97 Children of Stephen Hatfield, all by his first wife, Phebe (Priest) Hatfield: 5 sons and 6 daughters. iii Elizabeth, b. Aug 19, 1827; d. ----; m. Apr. 13, 1848, at Macedon, NY, Dr. Joel Justin, b. Aug 30, 1820, aat Norwich, Conn.; d. Mar. 14, 1852, son of Ira Justin .... Elizabeth was for many years a teacher. She was a good German and French scholar and mathematician; was a practicing physician in Syracuse, where she stood high in her profession. Have you seen this book? It carries the Hatfield line back to Thomas Hatfield who followed the English separatists to Leiden, Holland and contains a wealth of information.
