Hi folks, Does anyone have record of one Betsey TAYLOR, born about 1797 in Montgomery County (according to census records)? She married Merchant CARTER who was born in Litchfield Co., Connecticut, who was living in Jefferson County by about 1804. Either he met her in Montgomery County or in Jefferson County, where a Benjamin Taylor was also a nearby settler. Family tradition is that Betsey was an Indian (we'll see!) and her father was supposedly a businessman from near New York City and he had a funny first name (no idea what it was).
