Anyone ever hear of a location in Montgomery County that was called "FLINT HILL"? My great-great grandparent THOMAS CARR(born in Ireland abt1825), wife ANNA BOYLE(b. 1828), first child Mary Anne CARR,born about 1850, her obit and cemetery plot card at St. Agnes cemetery in Menands lists her place of birth as "Flint Hill" The 1850 census has them living in Rotterdam Schenectady County. I have found out the family is listed in the 1860 census, as being born in Montgomery County "FLORIDA", which I assume is the township in Montgomery County. I know they were not born in the State of Florida. The census lists three children, Mary Ann, Thomas Jr. and Bridget as in school. Any idea where one went to school in Montgomery County in 1860. Thomas and Anna CARR are listed in the census as unable to read or write however Thomas Carr bought a plot of land in WEST TROY in 1866 for $ 900.00. How he obtained the money or why he purchased land in West Troy is a mystery. They were Irish Catholics and I have written St. Mary's in Amsterdam, who could not locate any records. Thanks for any help.
