The closest I can come is the surname FURMAN, and I have next to nothing on that one. For quite some time I've been looking for Mariah Furman, nee BADER/BAUDER/PAUTER/POTTER. Mariah was born 18 Nov 1808 and baptised 29 Jan 1809 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Minden, Montgomery Co., NY as the daughter of Jacob and Gertraut (Charity) Bader. In her father's 1860 probate records she is referred to as Mariah Furman. By that time her Bader family was using the surname, Potter, and several siblings were living in western NY.
