    3. To find out what newspapers are in the microfilm collection of the NYS Library, go to the following URL. http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/index.html Click on Collections in the column on the right (below Research Library). Click on Newspapers (Interlibrary Loan can be accessed from this page) Click on Newspapers on Microfilm Click on Newspapers in Microfilm (in second paragraph, NOT at the top of screen) Click on NYS Newspaper Microfilm at the State Library. At that point, you can search by County or City. That was the long way of getting there, but there are many valuable things to be seen along the way. To go DIRECTLY from this email to the County or City search, click on the following: http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/nysnp/nygcty.htm Microfilms can be borrowed on Interlibrary Loan (you can click on that at the point mentioned above or at the opening screen). I phoned the interlibrary loan dept. Inside NYS it is a free service. For outside the state, there is a $10 fee for borrowing 5 consecutive newspaper microfilms (includes shipping and can only be ordered by your librarian), although on the web page I did not find anything that required the microfilms to be consecutive.
