    1. [NYMONTGO] HELP! A trade? . . . THORP of Montgomery Co., NY
    2. Mark Wentling
    3. Hi folks, I live in Washington, D.C. and will "trade" look-ups at the National Archives in exchange for someone looking up these materials for me. I will also reimburse for copies and postage, etc. I wish to obtain the obituary (if there was one) of Abner THORP, who died 8 July 1871, age 105, in the Town of Charleston, Montgomery County, New York. He was a member of the Charleston Baptist Church and is buried in that churchyard. Is it possible to get a look-up or copies of his will or administration papers? Also, seeking the obituary of Ebenezer THORP, a deacon, (perhaps at the same church), who died 9 August 1860. He spent his early years in Charleston, subsequently helped settled the nearly Town of Root (specifically Rural Grove), and returned to Charleston in his old age (by 1860) where he died. He is buried in Rural Grove Cemetery. I am trying to determine whether Ebenezer was a son of Abner THORP. Ebenezer was the forefather of the Thorps that populated Little Falls, Herkimer County, New York from 1875-1980-ish. Thank you!, Mark A. Wentling http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~legends/welcome.html
