Am looking for information on the early life of Thomas JOHNSON, born in 1805 in New York state, probably in the general vicinity of Albany but perhaps further west along the Mohawk River. He had a younger brother Nehemiah, about whom little is known. Thomas married Almira Stall, supposedly born in Fairfield, Herkimer County, and they settled in Ephratah, Montgomery County (later Fulton County). Shortly after the death of his father (also named Thomas) in 1854, he and Almira plus most of their several children moved to Illinois Tom Johnston thomas.johnston@worldnet.att.net
