    2. History & Archives
    3. Hi Lillee, I did a quick search and found that Laura Rockwell was listed as a head of household, age 70, born in Connecticut. Her daughter, Louisa Knapp -- age 29 born in Montgomery Co., and son-in-law, Spencer Knapp -- age 30 born in Otsego Co., were residing with her. 1. [NYMONTGO] Flint Hill
    2. Donald Cosgro
    3. Anyone ever hear of a location in Montgomery County that was called "FLINT HILL"? My great-great grandparent THOMAS CARR(born in Ireland abt1825), wife ANNA BOYLE(b. 1828), first child Mary Anne CARR,born about 1850, her obit and cemetery plot card at St. Agnes cemetery in Menands lists her place of birth as "Flint Hill" The 1850 census has them living in Rotterdam Schenectady County. I have found out the family is listed in the 1860 census, as being born in Montgomery County "FLORIDA", which I assume is the township in Montgomery County. I know they were not born in the State of Florida. The census lists three children, Mary Ann, Thomas Jr. and Bridget as in school. Any idea where one went to school in Montgomery County in 1860. Thomas and Anna CARR are listed in the census as unable to read or write however Thomas Carr bought a plot of land in WEST TROY in 1866 for $ 900.00. How he obtained the money or why he purchased land in West Troy is a mystery. They were Irish Catholics and I have written St. Mary's in Amsterdam, who could not locate any records. Thanks for any help. 1. [NYMONTGO] Fergusons
    2. Robert A. Ferguson
    3. My 4-gg, John and Margaret Ferguson had 9 sons and 1 dau in Broadalbin, starting 1789. John and Margaret m abt 1787/88 -- but I cannot find where? My particular problem is that I cannot find Margaret's maiden name. The bets are that she was an Embree (but I haven't found a John Ferguson-Margaret Embree marriage. Recently I discovered that a Margaret Embree had married a ___ McBride -- and that she was a widow before 1790. This could mean that I should be looking for a John Ferguson - Margaret McBride marriage. I'd certainly like to make a donation to any person who would take the time for this lookup. Bob in San Jose

The closest I can come is the surname FURMAN, and I have next to nothing on that one. For quite some time I've been looking for Mariah Furman, nee BADER/BAUDER/PAUTER/POTTER. Mariah was born 18 Nov 1808 and baptised 29 Jan 1809 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Minden, Montgomery Co., NY as the daughter of Jacob and Gertraut (Charity) Bader. In her father's 1860 probate records she is referred to as Mariah Furman. By that time her Bader family was using the surname, Potter, and several siblings were living in western NY. 3. Randy, I was making an index of Garlock wills available at the FHL. I came across a will for your Andrew. If you don't already have it, you may be interested. Only one Garlock was listed for Schoharie Co. Garlock, Andrew; Seward Schoharie Co., NY, Vol 12 page 333, between the years 1887-1891, FHL film 857185 This doesn't name his father, but it could give you some leads.
