    3. I should mention that the index that I posted contains parents as well as children. From the index, you cannot tell which a certain name would be. I have contacted the Schenectady Co. Historical Society today. Their normal fee is $15 per hour of research. But they would be willing to send you a photocopy of a bp. record in the Toll Lost Baptisms for a $1-7 donation. The price is your choice. A self-addressed-stamped envelope has been requested. You can contact them by email at: librarian@schist.org For address, phone number, or other information, see my Guide to Albany Area Genealogical Resources, posted at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/ Cliff

    3. Lisa, I had a situation exactly like that a couple of years ago -- it took a couple of months and I was really upset because I thought I had been duped. I wrote an email inquiring of the statuts of my order and I got no email reply. However, the wills *did* show up -- right around the time I was getting really mad! While the wait is frustrating, SamPubCo does deliver . . . . . . eventually. Good luck! 3. There is NO record of any direct email communication from Lisa Ecker on this matter as she claimed. I keep record of EVERY SAMPUBCO messages. The transcribing takes considerable time - currently at 375+ and they are ahead of hers. For the record - the transcribing and posting requests are not accepted for now until the backlog of transcribing is caught up and will be offered only on limited basis time to time. Paper copies orders are going nicely and well within time frame. What I do NOT understand is the ones who live so close to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and not disabled. All they could have done is pick up the information and go to the Library. I ran into several researchers who came from out of Utah loaded with information to do fast checking and copying themselves. They said the site had saved them considerable time checking the films. W. David Samuelsen Lisa Ecker wrote: > I feel I must say something about sampubco.com. If so, his parents would be Frederick, Jr. and Margarita (Barnhardt). While there are logical indications of the connection (census information 1810-1870 and a land sale), I am seeking proof of the connection. If the connection proves true, I would have the line back to the Netherlands. If you are interested I could send you more detailed information. If so, may I use your E-mail address as listed. 3. Hi Cliff !!!! I would like to know if there are any Samples on that list because I have found many Samples in Montgomery Co., Fonda churches, and Amsterdam, Root, Glen,Florida, and that general area and I can't figure out how to get on the index because I can't just click on the web page you have on your message, something in my puter needs reconfiged. They were there late 1700's to mid 1800's most moved onward east. I also seem to have problems trying to type the address in and get on that way, guess I need to take a class or something. If there are some Samples on there with they do a look up for a charge so I don't have to go so far. I'm in Michigan. Thats so much for letting everyone know about this info it could prove to be very important to so many. Keep up the good work. ( Sample Family Genealogy ), Montgomery Co., to Otsego Co., to Steuben Co. and surounding areas. To find a possible will or probate file for him would I search for it in Mongomery Co, or would it be in Fulton Co? Where would I need to write to find such files. Thanks for the help. 2. Mark Wentling
    3. Hi folks, I would like to obtain the obituary of Abner Thorp who died in Charleston, Montgomery Co., on 8 July 1871 at age 105. I'm hoping that his extraordinary age was cause for the papers to print a biography of him at his death! I want to find out if he had a son or grandson named Ebenezer Thorp (died 9 Aug. 1860). Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don't even know what newspapers covered Charleston at that time. He is buried in the Baptist Church's graveyard and Ebenezer was married by that church's minister. Thanks! Mark A. Wentling Washington, D.C.

    3. Hello, Helen, You need to have someone go to the NYS Archives in Albany and look up the name in the NYS Health Dept. indexes, then order the death certificate for you. The d.c. will give the date and place of birth, as well as death information. This is all contingent, of course, on the knowledge of the person who gave the information. A son or daughter would have been most likely to know the information. The cost in NYS for a vital records certificate for genealogy is $11. I charge for the research time, as well, but perhaps you can find a volunteer.
