    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: LocalHistoryDivRPL Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.monroe/386.2731.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The Pittsford Cemetery records (for the large cemetery on East Ave. in Pittsford) shows that Morgan Dunham died and was buried there on March 20, 1879, aged 75 years, 7 months, and 19 days. His wife Maria V. was buried there on July 18, 1849, aged 42 years, 6 months, 10 days. The 1855 census of Monroe County (not yet online) shows: Morgan Dunham, aged 51, born in SAS [not legible!], here 4 years Sarah Dunham, wife, aged 51, born in Dutchess County NY, here 4 years Mary Ann aged 25, born in [nothing given], here 4 years Charles E, aged 19, born in Ontario County NY, here 4 years John W, aged 16, born in Ontario County, here 4 years James A, aged 12, born in Ontario County, here 4 years. The 1865 census of Monroe County is available for free on the LDS web site, www.familysearch.org 1855 and 1865 given the county of birth of people. 1865 is not yet indexed (we got the 1855 info from the card index in the division.) You might also want to try the newspaper index: http://www3.libraryweb.org/lh.aspx?id=963&ekmensel=c57dfa7b_12_38_963_9 It has, among other things, DUNHAM, MORGAN (Pittsford), Died. UA Mr 20, 1879 3-9 The Union and Advertiser was a newspaper of the time. Perhaps tracing their movement with in NY state would provide more answers. Some other postings in WorldConnect shows him being born in Saratoga County, which is a pretty close approximation of the SAS in the 1855 census. (see: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=delcy3&id=I18475)That has links going back to 1599 in England. There are also some seemingly inaccurate contributions in there! David Dunhma is one of the contributors, and he also mentions James T. Dunham, Gratia Dunham Mahoney, Patricia Junkin, Marine Damvelt, and Audrey Shields Hancock in his post.
