John Rowland was born Sep 1795 in Dunkeswell, Devonshire, England. He was the son of John Rowland and Elizabeth Sparks. His father died when he was very little and his mother married my 4ggrandfather, John Ham. I'm not sure when he left Barrington, Somersetshire, but his family emigrated through the port of Bristol to Baltimore on their way to Rochester. He was not in the party. They entered the country 3 Sep 1842 and he died 29 Sep 1842. He and his wife Charlotte are buried in the Brighton village cemetery, now in Rochester.
