Seems like of helpful sources on this board. I am stalled on the following people : Bethia or Bertha Banham . Married Charles Duerr ( or Durr) .b NY ( probably Rochester ) 5/1870 Harry Josiah Banham . Married Addie Burgelin. b NY ( probably Rochester) 1872 Fred Adams Banham . Married Mabel Eliza Dakin, b ditto 11/1877 Hattie Alice Banham . Married Irving Esley , b ditto 11/1879 Laura D banham.Married Fred John Shoen , b ditto 4/1890 I have the marriage info on all but no birth detail nor can I find death info or obit. While they were all Rochester born some may have migrated to Irondequoit . Any help would be appreciated Tony Banham
Tony, During the time frame you have listed for these births, you would need to look at Church records as vital records in New York State didn't begin until the 1880's. You MIGHT be able to obtain the one from 1890 from the county. Here is a good Q & A about Monroe County Vital Records http://www3.libraryweb.org/lh.aspx?id=962 from the local library. Do you know what religion they were? As for deaths, have you checked the Monroe County Cemeteries? I am presuming that they all died in the last few decades... If they died after 1961, did you check the SSDI? If you haven't or haven't searched RootsWeb, then you should at http://www.rootsweb.com Here are some links you should check out for more information and to search. Click on Locating a Loved One to search. http://www.holysepulchre.org/ And then there is Mount Hope Cemetery and Riverside Cemeteries to search. http://www.lib.rochester.edu/index.cfm?PAGE=3310 If they lived in Irondequoit most of their lives then it is possible that they were buried in that area in one of the smaller cemeteries.
