    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: halsey38 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.monroe/12146.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I made a mistake! Comparing the Mt. Hope burial records and my tombstone inscriptions, I found 3 people with tombstones that died in the 1840s that were buried in the Public Grounds #1 and none that were buried in the Old Single Graves. So Nathaniel is buried in the Public Grounds #1 (http://mcnygenealogy.com/cem/mthope-sec-pg.htm). There are even fewer people in that area that have tombstones. Seeing as Nathaniel was buried in 1848 he is somewhere in the first few rows of that lot, which would be the east side of the Public Grounds. Mt. Hope does have lot maps of most lots. Not sure if they have a lot map for the Public Grounds but there is a slim possibility. The Cemetery doesn't do research. Instead they refer all requests to a volunteer group called the "Friends of Mt. Hope." Go to their website (http://www.fomh.org) and click on "Contact us."
