However, searching for "George Covington" yielded an entry in the Hilton Record: HILTON, N.Y., THURSDAY, NOV. 4, 1937 George Covington Dies Suddenly George Covington,62, widely known farmer in the Parma area, passed away suddenly Friday. October 29th at his home at the comer of Bailey and Parma Center Roads. Mr. Covington was the victim of a heart attack. When he failed to come in to his evening meal, his wife started to the barn to look for him and discovered him lying in front of the barn, having finished his chores and evidently started for the house, when he was stricken. Born in Kendall on July 25, 1875, he came to Parma as a youth and but for four years in Buffalo, had lived on the homestead since. He was a member of Parma Grange.and of the North Greece Fire Department. Survivors are his wife, Gertrude Chase Covington, whom he married in 1897; a daughter. Mrs. Raymond Veness, of Parma; a son, Floyd Covington, of Hamlin: two brothers, Manley of Spencerport and Fred Covington of Elba, and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the home, with the Rev. Alexander MacKenzie, pastor of the First Baptist Church of East Rochester, officiating. Burial was in Parma Union Cemetery.
