In going through old notes I found a copy of the 1892 Census entry for Nancy Hess living in Batavia, Genesee Co. Son John A.age 25 and son Elmer J. ae 19 are there with her. I had forgotten that John's middle initial here was "A". The WW1 Draft Cards shows a Abrams John Hess, 38, b. 22 March 1880 Res. 206 Reynolds St., Rochester Nearest relative: Dolley May Hess Registered 12 Sept. 1918 He signed as Abraman? (not clear)John Hess Deanna

Nancy Griswold Hess died in Rochester, NY April 1919. In her obituary she names a son John Hess of Rochester. Is he the following person?: John Hess b ca 1879/80 NY, m. ca 1906 m'd Magdalena Schwind. Issue: Margaret ca 1912 elizabeth ca 1916 Marion ca 1919 Ruth ca 1922 John H. ca 1925 This John is in Rochester 1910,1920,1930 Census.1930 he is residing 16 Weaver St. The SSDi shows a John Hess b. 22 Feb. 1880, d Rochester Jan. 1971. I don't have a day of death. The John I'm seeking was son of Loan and Nancy Griswold Hess and was born in Batavia, Genesee Co., NY Deanna
