I am wondering if anyone on this list is also on the Genesee list? I cannot send or receive anything, nor can I join if somehow I was dropped. I have written to administrator -- and received no answer.

It was simply a guess that perhaps because they used the middle name of Perrin for one of their sons, that it was also her maiden name. I have not been able to discover a Clarissa Perrin of the correct age to be the wife of Rufus, and they had no interactions with the Perrin family, so this may be a red herring. Really? Wow, no wonder the Rochester Library staff are so frustrated! They have been wishing for years that the Rochester newspapers could be digitized! At least there is the Fulton website. But where are these Syracuse papers - on the library website or where? Can anyone access the database? You MIGHT be able to obtain the one from 1890 from the county. Here is a good Q & A about Monroe County Vital Records http://www3.libraryweb.org/lh.aspx?id=962 from the local library. Do you know what religion they were? As for deaths, have you checked the Monroe County Cemeteries? I am presuming that they all died in the last few decades... Because of the time period you are looking at, what you need to do first is establish the date of death. Unfortunately the one tool that MIGHT help, the Life Records website from the library is offline and they do not know when it will go back up. Now if you post this information directly to the Message Board, the Library personnel may be willing to look in their in-house Life Records database to see if they can find any listings for the deaths of the people you are looking for and provide you with the death dates along with the dates of any obits that appeared in the papers. Then you could order the pertinent films through your local library to find the obits yourself. The library does offer a service to send copies of the obits but dates have to be provided and they cost $10 each! You see the library monitors the board but not this list. The library does offer a service to send copies of the obits but dates have to be provided and they cost $10 each! You see the library monitors the board but not this list. Posts to the board do come through to this list, but only subscribers to the list see messages like the one you sent that I replied to. I hope that this helps. If they died after 1961, did you check the SSDI? If you haven't or haven't searched RootsWeb, then you should at http://www.rootsweb.com Here are some links you should check out for more information and to search. This page is a clickable map of everything available from the Rochester library. http://www3.libraryweb.org/lh.aspx?id=997 This is the Monroe County GenWeb website which has several links to websites PLUS databases of Cemetery listings, Biographical Sketches, Images and more. http://mcnygenealogy.com/ For Cemeteries with online information, there is Holy Sepulchre Cemetery which is Roman Catholic. Click on Locating a Loved One to search. http://www.holysepulchre.org/ And then there is Mount Hope Cemetery and Riverside Cemeteries to search. http://www.lib.rochester.edu/index.cfm?PAGE=3310 If they lived in Irondequoit most of their lives then it is possible that they were buried in that area in one of the smaller cemeteries. Be sure to see the Cemetery information on the GenWeb website for information on those cemeteries. I hope this helps.
