    1. Christmas Weather

    3. Hi, Listers, Christmas weather has hit Central NY. There was about 5 inches of snow in the backyard this morning when I went out to feed the birds. It was also 9 below zero with a wind chill of minus 23. I didn't sweat any as I cleaned off the bird feeders. It was a "real" minus 38 in Saranac Lake NY. My wife and I attended a Christmas party yesterday afternoon at my nephew's farm up in the Madison County hills near East Hamilton (near the Brookfield line). When we left home it was snowing and blowing and did so all day. It was doing the same when we headed home in the afternoon. Temp had been dropping and the roads were very slippery, especially going down the hills. On the way over, outside of Hamilton, I slid past one corner and went on to take the long way around. On the way back as it was getting toward dusk, we missed our turn back through Poolville to Hamilton, and had to devise another way back, finding a road out of Hubbardsville that I remembered that led back to Hamilton. We got home at just about dark, and the phone was ringing--my sister and nephew wondering if we got there ok, and why it took us so long. Ah, the joys of Madison County winters! I wouldn't give it up for anything, tho'. How about you, Joan, down there in Candor? Chas
