Carol Boggs, In your search for your ancestor(s) in the War of 1812 try a search try War of 1812, roster of NY soldiers. You may have to pay for a report, because Ancestry.Com is everywhere. If your local library has a subscription for Ancestry Plus, you may find your answers for free. If you don't have a NY Genealogy Guide I would suggest you get hold of one, because they have many, many sites you might find useful. I am not sure where you can get one.
