Valerie, Hello , Valerie I'm only 6 months into names searches sooo, please dont think this is exspert advise. But I was Wondering If You knew The name Cameron is associated with The Acadians. I am researching several family lines . Besides my Watson . They are Russell, Blanchard, Dumus, and Ricard I knew they were French Canadian But only discovered this morning that they are Acadians . which this is the jest of my understanding of todays discovery. That they were throws aways of the British there original origins are unknown ,However theres many theories that differ from one historian to the other. There is a interesting tidbit That the name acadian can be found in a greek term and I beleive I read that the translated term was associated with a place in greek . I then read where the Brittish sent a few thousand of these peaple in exile to Canada and only a small percentage ever made the journey alive. The Ones that did are the Acadians and we know them as French canadians, Then later when the Brittish needed to set up camps in Canada . these peaple were once again exiled and scattered. Some went thru the woods to places in upstste Ny. and others went to Louisiana and are called Cajuns. There are other classifications of which I didnt absorb on my first reading. I beleive It was the Brittish But maybe the Canadians that spent mega bucks doing the geneology on these peaple. There is much info done..... And the Camerons were one family that was done. I've been keeping my eyes open for you from your other postings , because , I saw the name many times while searching my own family in Canada , But of coarse woundnt you know I couldnt back track to them, Of coarse not all dumus and ect. are all French Canadian Some came directly from FRance. and so it may be in your case. But remember the saying of birds that flock together, Well i hope i digested enough this morning to have my facts right. If you or anyone is interested in reading what I found ,I'd be glad to forward it. And does any one else think how peculiar it was for the Gov. to do the geneology on these folks at their cost? Whats the significance? esp when their were repeatedly exiled. Another thought I've had since I started this geneology study .I've entertained the notion of How our Gov. is involved in helping open doors for this pursuit ` I wonder if it would ever be used against us. I would imagine Hilter had to of been involved in genological study , inorder to seperate the races and Its no secret that each world leader has been trying to produce the perfect race and now we've come to cloning, Is this the answer now to who to we clone? Hmm dont mind my notions is sounds more bizzare Than I am. But whenever I get these notions .They do happen.
