This comment is a bit late, but I've been wondering if the "church" in question might have been the Colgate University chapel. Was there a connection between the family and Colgate University? Just a thought, Debbah in Maine

I don't know of any connection between the family and Colgate, but that does not mean there wasn't one. It's a good thought and I will certainly check it out. Thank you Debbah.
