Hi, Listers, Just a reminder. Madison County was born of Chenango County 200 years ago. All during 2006 the County will be celebrating. December 31, New Years Eve day, the City of Oneida will "kick on" the beginning of the celebration. On that day they will have opening ceremonies, speeches, entertainment, indoor kids games, sandcastle building for kids, vintage town ball games, horse drawn trolley rides around the historic district,and on and on into the evening with the New Years Eve dance, fireworks and all kinds of stuff. Wish for good weather that day! 2006 would be a good time to visit Madison Co. to search for traces of your ancestors. Winter is not such a good time to come from the south, unless you like winter sports and snow. But its nice here any time of year! Chas
