When any of us finds a document that contains family information, ours or anyone else's, it is useful to consider how many ways it can be both shared and preserved. Some of these repositories you mention have wonderful collections that would not be possible if people did not plan for the preservation of information for all researchers. Just think if each subscriber to this list were to preserve one document for public research either digitally or physically, what a huge boost to retrievable information would be created.
