I was told by a list member that there were a lot of helpful people from all over NY on this list, so wondered if anyone could make any suggestions, or help me. Tho I am a volunteer on RAOGK, Obituary Lookup Volunteers, and a couple other lists for my Polk Co., MO, there doesn't seem to be a volunteer of any sort for Montgomery Co. on any of the lists I know about, and I haven't been able to search out and locate a newspaper for the area to contact, or anything. I need an obituary on Mary Ann SHAY, (born 1922) who died 18 Dec. 1989 in Montgomery Co., NY (according to the SSDI). Also, her husband is supposed to have died "several years ago" in St. Johnsville, Montgomery Co., NY according to a very distant relative to both he and I. I can't locate him in the SSDI. He is Harry Allen SHAY (born about 1919). Went by Allen/Allan SHAY in adult life, I am told. Would love a death date and obituary on him, if possible. Is there anyone in that area, or near the state archives, who might lo cate an y of this info for me? Or suggest what I might do to locate it? Thanks so much. Any help appreciated.
