The list is 219 pages long. My great, great, great grandfather's tombstone is in Brookfield Rural Cemetery #40 Brookfield (or Clarkville) Village School District #32. His name is WILLIAM HIBBARD. (This list might be old and names of cemeteries could be a little different now.) William was born in 1764 in England and died 12/12/1813 in Brookfield, NY. He married a Lois Babcock on 11/20/1796 in Westerly, Washington, RI. They had seven children--three in Westerly, RI, and four in Brookfield, Madison, NY. I am decended from JOEL HIBBARD (born 8/31/1804, I believe). He is my gr gr grandfather; and Betty (see below*) is decended from another son of William's, COLONEL JOHN HIBBARD, born 11/30/1798, died 12/15/1877. I read her "The Hibbard Family Tree." I also sent her a letter. Hope I hear from her. Joel's son, SHEFFIELD JOEL, is my gr grandfather. I am having trouble verifying his birth date. Family records state that he was born in 1836 in Brookfield, NY and died on 7/2/1878 in Theresa, Jefferson County, NY. Sheffield Joel was a muscian (as a hobby, I believe). He played the cornopean as a young man in a Cotillon Band. I have a poster dated 1/9/1854. His address was Theresa, Jeff. Co., NY. at that time. Another poster dated 1877 states Hibbard's Cornet Band of Theresa, NY. His first wife was Mary Bartram, born ? and died 11 or 12/1859 and was buried in Theresa, NY. His second wife, Electa Bartram, was born in about 1849 in Jefferson, NY, and died on 11/8/1887 and was buried in Brookfield, NY. Electa Bartram and Sheffield Joel had two sone, FRED ELI, and Silas Joel. Fred Eli is my grandfather. Fred Eli was born on 5/29/1865 and died 5/14/1933. Fred Eli and his wife, Mary "May" McNellis, had two sons, Ronald and RAY FREDRICK. Ray Fredrick Hibbard is my father. He was born on 6/21/1905 and died 12/19/1960. My mother is Dorothy Duffy, born 3/15/1908 and died 6/15/1994. Ray and Dorothy had twin daughters, Anne and me, Barbara, on 7/1/1935. Anne has four children and four grandchildren, and I have four children and five grandchildren.
