Hello to all I've taken on a small (HA! COUGH!) project lately... I have no idea if anyone else has taken an interest in this small book found at Heritage Quest, but I just chug along... Heman Howes Sanford wrote a book on William Sanford, of Tiverton, RI, back in the late 1890s, and I've decided to make a gedcom out of it. William was an early arrivee to the Madison area, along with the Peckhams, Simmonses, as well as others out of Rhode Island. I have a pretty good start on the project and am up to about 450 names - the database is online now, at WorldConnect, if you are interested. The name of the database to look for is "solsville" (kinda fitting, I guess, since there is quite a bit mentioned of the little berg.) There are probably a couple of notes I need to mention, regarding this database. First off, I didn't do any further research on these people, so the information is pretty much as it was in 1898, when the book was published. There were a few small mistakes in dates, which I took the liberty of "fixing" and feel pretty sure that my corrections are honest, at least. Another interesting entry that I did investigate a little bit was for one "Frank Lewis", who married Edward Johnson... Needless to say, I had to go into; "And this is my lovely wife, Frank..." a few times before I could stop laughing long enough to look at some other census images... Frank, you will find, has a note attached, contending that possibly her proper given name was Francelia... I guess she had an Aunt Irving, who was married to Uncle Ethel - yada yada... Anyway... all in good fun. And the last note is... once I am done converting this information, I am not going to go any further with it, unless it relates to my main tree somehow. To make things a little simpler, if you are interested, this will take you to the first page of the database: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=SHOW&db=solsville&recno=0 Hope this finds you all well and in good spirits, and keeping warm.
