    1. The Lake Erie Catastrophe
    2. I was just looking through the ProQuest Historical Newspapers and saw an article about the sinking of the steamer Atlantic. I noticed that there was an account of bravery on the part of "Mr. Isaac W. Snooks, of Lennox, Madison County", the article is very graphic in the description of the passengers as they tried to escape the sinking. (Do you suppose that is where Baby Snooks came from?) It was in the New York Daily Times, August 26, 1852 and was entitled "The Lake Erie Catastrophe" if you plan to look it up. It certainly points up how dangerous the steamers were at that time.
