Hi everybody, I also would like to make a remark about William H. Tuttle and the book Pioneers of Madison Co. From what I can tell, he has done a pretty so so job. But in the case of my 5th & 6th great grandfathers Zadoc Beebe I and II he managed to get some dates confused. I will quote" Zadoc Sr. Settled in Brookfield, NY in 1894 and died in 1825. Now if someone can explain that mystery to me I would appreciate it. His son Zadoc Jr. who was age 94 when he died in 1866 which would make him born in 1772 would have had a hard time with that one don't you think? I also couldn't find anything on my great grandmother Ellen Amelia Hills, her husband Hiram J. Beebe his father Jusdson and his wife Susan Blanding Beebe. These people would have been born from the late 1700's to the mid 1800's Hiram was born about 1847 his son Will my grandfather born 1869. Ellen was the daughter of Chloe Clarke Hills and James Hills of Brookfield, NY they had 5 daughters and none of them were mentioned either nor their husbands. Lucy was married to George White son of a Daniel White of Whitesmills not from Brookfield. Francie was married to Hank/Henry Spooner and had only one son Frank Spooner Sarah was married to a George Woodworth and had two children a boy and a girl. The girl died at age 7 during a out break of Diphtheria. Phoebe married 3 times, once to a Mr. Tuttle. He was murdered for his payroll. She was pregnant with her only child and lost it. Phoebe later married a George K. Knapp a widower with two children George and Frances. George died in 1910 She later married James Fordyance Hickox he died before her and she died shortly in the poor house. Ellen Amelia Hills married Hiram J. Beebe son of Judson L. And Susan Blanding Beebe both of Brookfield. Can't find any thing on them either. Joan Beebe Meddaugh Candor, NY
