    3. Laurence, Thank you for identifying yourself. I am not an academic, as a matter of fact, and I have no political agenda whatsoever on this list. It was you who injected particular strong political opinions stated as if they were facts into a civil, non-political, discussion about Indian relics, and you who seems exercised about the result. Your continuing comments are to my mind ridiculous. What in the world does a charge of Marxism have to do with anything? That sounds like something from the McCarthy era. Identifying the tone and content of your previous comments as "acid" and "right wing" is neither personal nor inaccurate. My view of the original topic, experience in academia, and political opinions evidently differ considerably from yours, not that it matters. If you have further comments for me, let's take it off the list, but it doesn't sound like there is much further discussion possible here. I am far too busy for pointless arguments on ideology.
