The Rome State School closed about ten years ago. [New York State established two State Prisons on the site.] The new name for the organization is ''Central New York Developmental Disabilities Service Office'' [ CNYDDSO ] and is now a ''community'' based operation. Rome is in ONEIDA County. The DDSO has offices in both Rome, NY [315-363-2300] and Syracuse, NY.
