Hi Jayne, There are at least 3 ways to do cut and paste. Basically though, just highlight the text that you want to cut in the original document and then point to "edit" on the menu bar and click on it. A little menu pops up and you will click on "cut". Next go to the new document where you want to paste the material that you just cut from the original document. On the new document, put the cursor where you want to paste the selected material that you just cut, and left click to mark the spot. Now with your mouse pointer, go to the menu bar above the new document, click on "edit" and then on "paste" from the pop-up menu. You now should see the text that you cut from the first document displayed on the new document. You can use the same process to "copy and paste". If you paste something in the wrong place, click on "undo". Same thing if you cut the wrong part. Just click on "undo" and start over. There are other ways to do this. I don't want to confuse you, but briefly - A second way is this: If there are icons on the menu bar for copy,cut and paste, you can click on these icons instead of going to "edit" and clicking on the words for copy, cut, paste. A third way to do it is by right-clicking to get a little pop-up menu on the screen. For example, after you highlight the text that you want to copy or cut, right click your mouse and a mini-menu will pop up on the screen. Point to the command you want - copy or cut - and click on it. Go to wherever you want to paste the text and do the same thing. Put the cursor where you want to paste it and right click to get the pop-up menu. Then click on the command to paste. One thing I want to mention also about pdf files, which is what Adobe mainly is for. The whole point of pdf files it to prevent anyone from changing the content. It's a protected document. So if you try to cut some text and nothing happens, don't think you are doing something wrong. Just use copy instead of cut and then you can paste it into another document.
