    3. I was able to find the names of two people, but guess what? To view the complete file you have to have a subscription to Ancestry. I had already purchased the Revolutionary War Records and Civil War Records from the National Records Archives. They were quick and VERY complete. I would highly recommend their service. 3. Hi Bonnie, They ask you to register your name and email address, but there is no charge involved. It is free access. They will send you some email messages afterward with information and special offers. You can easily unsubscribe from getting those messages and they will stop. Just follow the instruction that is included in the messages to stop the emails. I know some people object to registering. To me it's a small inconvenience for free access to a huge cache of information. You can view and print out copies of any U.S. Military information on the site, including images of original military documents, at no cost. I'll just point out to those who haven't logged on yet, when the website comes up, there is a box in the middle of the page to enter your name and build a family tree to store on the site. Ignore that box and scan down to the bottom of the page where the "search" window is located. After you enter your search criteria, it will pull up a list of possible matches. When you click on any of the links on that list to "see the image", then the registration screen comes up. That's where you enter your name and email address for access to the images in the military databases.
