Dear Teresa: You are right. I mistakenly gave Nathan PALMER's birth and death dates to Nathan BROWN when I was copying the information from your email of March 5, 2008. I have several Amy BUTTONs but do not have an Amy BUTTON born 1774-75. From "Button Families of America," I have an Amy BUTTON, daughter of John BUTTON born 1749 and Anna MACCOON; this Amy was born August 6, 1797, married an Unknown BROWN. I just checked "Button Families of America" to make sure I had not made a mistake copying the birth date of this Amy BUTTON, but I had not. I think, though, that this Amy BUTTON born 1797 may have been a grandchild of John BUTTON born 1749. R. Glen Nye, the compiler of "Button Families of America," included children in BUTTON families who could not have been part of the families where he placed them because the mother in question was too old to bear children at that time. Another thought is that Amy's birth date in "Button Families of America" is a mistake. It takes changing only one digit, from 1797 to 1747, to make her agree with your information. There are errors in "Button Families of America." I have just looked at the Baldwin cemetery page that you gave and see that the Amy there who married Nathan W. BROWN was born in 1769. I have an Amy BUTTON born January 26, 1747-48 in Voluntown, CT. She was the daughter of Matthias BUTTON born 1691and Mary BROWN born 1693, both in Stonington, CT. That's all the information I have for her. Maybe Nathan BROWN did not marry an Amy BUTTON, but some other Amy.
