The girl who was drowned at Moose Lake I believe was Grace Brown. This is a distant cousin of my husbands family. Haven't worked on that connection yet but from the Cortland area. There was a well known Movie made of this event. I believe the name of it was "The Great American Tragedy" if memory serves me correctly. (Sometimes it doesn't!) I reread this story not too many years ago and came to find out that a Maude Kenyon mentioned in the story was a school teacher of Grace Brown's. Grace did not hold Maude in great esteem as a math teacher I believe! Interesting note tho was that Mauce Kenyon married an uncle of my Husbands on his fathers side. Speaking of Kallfelz Bakery, I sure remember that one as a child. We always purchased Kallfelz when we had 'store bought' bread!.
