Tim: Thanks for the church photos. My great grandfather was a minister in that church in 1910, for what duration though, I still do not know. I have photos of him at the pulpit and at the parsonage in DeRuyter. I have been all over the internet trying to find out more information about his ministry in DeRuyter with no luck as yet. He transferred to the Boulder SDB in 1920 and then to Berlin SDB in 1930 where he and my great grandmother lived out their last years. If anyone can tell me how to acquire records on SDB ministers I would be ever so greatful. The official SDB website claims they are unable to help genealogists. Well thanks again Tim for that article... I am glad to read the church will be restored. It is beautiful. And so was the parsonage back in the day. Hi Robin, I noticed that you are researching the Spooner families.? My GRX5 grandfather was Prince Spooner (1768-1845), a deacon in the First Baptist Church In Madison County.? He married twice, first to Ruth Maynard?, second to Rebecca Patterson.? I have traced back to 4 original Mayflower families through the Spooners.? Is he any relation to you?? We might be related!?
