Does anyone know if any marriage records exist for the Eaton area for the first half of 1800's? Looking for a marriage for a Rachael Newell who was living in the Boston area in 1857. The Aaron Polly Tidd Newell family are in Eaton in 1810 through about 1850. Thanks, Jack

From a purely civil record retention standpoint, the dates are to early for a town/county to record them except for the brief period around 1847-49. The Church the couples were married in is the most likely source for any record. Local papers may have printed an announcement if the people involved were prominent in the community. Private collections (family records) may be the only place these exist since the Reverend who performed the ceremony often gave the couple a Marriage Certificate.
