I wasn't aware that ANY records from 1890 census have survived. Am I wrong? I would dearly like to know if my grandfather Henry P. W. Köpke or Kapke, was still in Oneida at that time. I have been able to track him down in Albany 1886, Oneida 1889, then I lose him until 1900 in New Haven. From when I pick him up in New Haven, I can trace him until he died in 1917. I believe that at sometime during those ten years, they moved to NYC. I haven't found him there either. If I could be sure where he lived in 1888, I might be able to verify the birth place of my father. At this time I can only guess it is either Albany or Oneida. Letters to two churches in Albany brought nothing. One answered, but the other one didnt. I also drew a blank in Oneida? Are there any school records for names of students anywhere?
