Hi everybody. You helped me before--maybe again? I'm doing a program in early December on George W. Putnam, an abolitionist who lived in Peterboro for about 10 years, beginning in 1858. This guy had quite a varied career, including a time when he wrote lyrics for the Hutchinson Family Singers and they composed the music. One song was called "Ridden by the Slave Power" and I would like to find the actual music. There's a possibility that I can have someone at the program who can sing the song. I think it may have been sung to the tune "Benny Haven" or "Benny Heaven." Can't find that either. Is there anyone who can help me? As you've probably figured out, I can't read music--even if I find it!!!! My great great grandfather, Charles Cutler, the choir director from Peterboro, is probably rolling over in his grave. Thanks, Donna Burdick
