The newspaper of the era in Hamilton was the Republican: The Hamilton Republican was founded by General Nathaniel King, and first appeared as The Madison Farmer in 1828. Under six changes of name and twelve proprietorships it has been continued until at the present time it is nearing the close of its 67th volume. [1]http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nymadiso/progham.htm Says the article was transcribed but doesn't identify the source document. Title of the page is "Progressive Hamilton". Appears to be from end of 1800's or early 1900's. It does not delineate the other names the paper operated under. Perhaps you can locate if any archive is holding any remaining copies. Also a link on Google books about the "Payne's of Hamilton" coughed up the info that King was the first principal of Hamilton Academy. A military link says he commanded 2 brigades during War of 1812. Perhaps he was buried in a state or national military cemetery? I have a copy of an old map that shows a house in that area that I believe has the name King on it. Will have to pursue this. Thanks for the lead.
