    3. Patty I agree with Jim that the schools were usually identified by numbers. When Mary Messere was County Historian, she found old records of school districts for the different towns and she had them organized in boxes. I looked through the Smithfield box and found reports that were submitted for the Smithfield school districts. These reports went way back into the 1800s and continued into at least the 1930s. THERE WERE NO NAMES OF STUDENTS IN THESE REPORTS, but there seemed to be reports for the various numbered districts and the names of the teachers and other stats. Maybe there's a box for Lincoln also. I would suggest that you contact Kevin Orr, Records Management Coordinator at Wampsville. Maybe he would be willing to look.
