    2. Yes, Tink, now that you mention it those are the two. I have their book and while it's not the only one to buy, it seems a good start. For me, books a photographs only go so far, so I'd suggest a cruse around the local auction houses too. Good place to see representations of a certain period, or a certain maker from a particular area. Antique stores are pretty good too, though "your mileage may vary" greatly as to expertise. Also, look out for sharks! I know a number of well known antique dealers ( and jewelers ) here in Seattle who when they see something of real value, will gain a persons trust, and then subtly run down the piece so they can buy it at 10% of it's wholesale value.
