Yes, you are right. Manatees are mammals, related to elephants. Extremely docile animals. They grow up to 10 ft long and weight about half a ton or more. We used to see them feeding in the Manatee River near Bradenton, while canoeing. Here's a site for more info and pictures: http://www.savethemanatee.org/. Here in Florida on the West coast it is a brisk 45 degrees out. Not surfing weather that's for sure. But I do think the water might be warmer than the air. The Manatees are starting to look for warmer water tho. This is the time of year you might see some near the nuke plants or some come up the canals a bit. They are a very exotic mammal. Hello Listers, Were you aware there is now a free on-line newspaper for Madison and Oneida Counties? I used this url to get it, at first, and if you subscribe (free), as I did, you will get it every day along with your other emails. http://www.madisoncountycourier.com The headlines come everyday, and you can read the full story by clicking on the ones of interest to you, and then over on the left of the screen you can click on other things. Tink, I think if you put "Mohawk Living tv program" in NYState(or something similar) into google it will come up. That's how I first got it. However, my son reported today, he could not get todays' episode to come up. Hmmm....... It comes from Utica WKTV. Maybe it is too soon after airing.
