Having dug deeper into Mike's old web site I'm mending broken links there in Madison County, which much like finding ancestors seems to create even more broken links when new pages are added. At present I'm stopping to resolve the broken links on these three counties. Some links are easier to fix than others but they all take time. At present these are the number of broken links per site: Chenango - 16 of 638 URSs - 2.51% as of 10/23 Cortland - 51 of 1027 URLs - 4.97% as of 11/4 Madison - 336 of 2659 URSs - 12.64% as of 11/4 As you can see my efforts are concentrated on Madison County as I seek to get these down to a much better rate. Meanwhile I do have material out, and have received some back from transcribers, just awaiting me to get the material online. This material will be worked in as soon as I can. Too many pies at the moment though. Tim ==== NYMADISO Mailing List ==== Search the list archives: http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl - put NYMADISO for the name of the list

Both Adon and Anna died in Nelson, Madison Co. NY and are buried in Erieville Cem. Adon had a son named George who is my 2nd great grandfather. I have always felt that there is some relationship between Robert and Adon. Perhaps brothers? Thanks, still searching. >Barbara Brown Porter From the index I see no Adon Brown. However, I'm not sure if the index covers every individual in the study for it contains the names of at least 570 individuals - Brown and a host of other names. Instead of waiting until I get all the individual names online, I'm going to start putting up the index page by page - for the index itself covers 12 pages. Tim
Listers, Sharon Garrett, my cousin, has computer problems and asked that I let you know she will be off line for about two weeks. Sharon (the other one)

I've got the broken links down to about 50. Some are pages that seem to be lost - about 4 from Mike's old site. I've not been able to find them, even on the Wayback machine. :( Also in the last week to 10 days I've received approximately 2000 emails, which I'm wading through - with one hand, while doing web site work with the other. I've got 3 screens running and hop between them, while trying to keep 4 cats away from my face, off the keyboards, petted, fed, brushed, while scraping paint off the walls of my office, watching TV or playing the radio / CD player and lastly once in a while eating/sleeping. :) So on we go. 25 plus queries were added to the site tonight - http://www.rootsweb.com/~nymadiso/curntqry.htm Take a look / see. So what are you doing to keep busy? :-) I have the 1843/4 Hamilton Institute up, on my site, if anybody's interested: http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ny/county/madison/hamlitandtheo/index.htm It's not real "newsy" but there is a little in it. Roger, Madison Center is located southeast of Madison [village]. Go south on Lake Moraine Road and turn left on Center road. The cemetery is maybe 1/8 mi. east on Center Rd. Many of my relatives are buried there. I remember when my mother took us kids there while she mowed the grass around one of our plots. In those days each lot owner took care of there own. On the 1875 map The Center looks bigger than Madison village itself, but doesn't seem to show at all on the modern county map. Chas
Marilyn - I have wondered about the Jaycox name and others spelled differently than our name. Even one census showed my gg grandfather as Jacoy.......... so phonetics had an inportant factor in taking census back then. Most of those that I have found have spelled it JAQUAY, or JAQUAYS, JAKEWAYS, I appreciate your response. After the 1820 Madison County census, ggg grandfather SAMUEL N. JAQUAYS is no where to be found. I wondered if both he and his wife SABRINA had passed on or gone West, where many of our line did. So I continue to search. ................ thanx again Pat J.

We do have some Jaqua's in Sacramento, but it will take some digging for me to find them again. marilyn Harold Jaquay wrote: >Marilyn - > >I have wondered about the Jaycox name and others spelled differently than our name. Hello Pat, I am researching Jaycox's and there were some of both as I recall in otswego Co. New Berlin area. Another name that I often come up with when researching Jaycox is Jaqua. There are some Jaycox researchers who claim they are all the same family. marilyn Harold Jaquay wrote: >Do you have any JAQUAY(s) in the Madison Village or Indian Opening Cemeteries? > >Pat Jaquay > > >==== NYMADISO Mailing List ==== >Search the list archives: >http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl - put NYMADISO for >the name of the list > > > >
