Does anyone know of a STILSON GREENE connection? I have a photo that was in a Photo Album owned by my great-grandmother who was born in Wellsville, Allegany Co., NY. In the album is an old photo, circa 1890's, with 'Missy Stilson, the Greene cousin', written on the back. My gr. grandmother was Alice WELLS, daughter of George & Mariah (Ficnh) WELLS. George's father, Peter WELLS, was born somewhere in Madison Co.

Hi Debra, I was just struck by the use of the word "chapel" in your original post. I live near Bowdoin College which has a lovely and important "chapel." Good luck. Deb
I don't know of any connection between the family and Colgate, but that does not mean there wasn't one. It's a good thought and I will certainly check it out. Thank you Debbah. Jiggedity, jig. Fog in the morning, yesterday - not as bad as the night before. At the near end of journey a ladder in my lane of the highway. Nearly no rain, thankfully. One more thing about 2004 - it turned out differently than I expected from January 2004. I predict 2005 will be the same. The future will be surprising. Some things will be going away, some things will come new or refreshed to our doors. May each of you find something new, something refreshing in this new year. Now to work. Tim

Can anyone help me out here? My 2nd great grandfather, Sanford Henry Winters, died in Hamilton, NY at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Minnie and LeGrand Mosher (Mosier) in December of 1913. The obituary states that he had been stricken "while attending the Christmas exercises at the chapel", but no chapel name is given. Additionally, the Rev. S. b. Leary conducted the funeral services, but again, no church affiliation is given. Would anyone of you out there have any information which might help me identify the church involved? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Debra Sue Zimmerman Old historians never die; they just past away!
