    3. Ray: Thank you for posting the histories of the cities. I found our Joseph and Benjamin Tripp, as well as Sutton, which are names in our DeRuyter families. Also found some others from other branches. Other names we look for in and around DeRuyter are Bailey, Marsh, Lowe, Rowe, Barker. Thanks for any and all help. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ray Brown To: NYMADISO-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, January 20, 2005 9:36 AM Subject: Re: [NYMADISO] Madison County town histories Debra I fixed the County name on the New York page, that was sort of a stupid mistake on my part. At least I had the correct County listed on each town page. Madison is the only County that I finsihed that quick. The typing in the book OCR'd real good, only a few errors per town to fix. Never saw an old book do so good on that. A lot of others used I inplace of 1 so all the dates have to be fixed but not Madison County. Will have to find more like that close by. 3. Hi Michael, The August 1850 census for Lenox, Madison Co., NY lists Henry C. Burdick age 44 no occupation b. NY; & Lydia F. Burdick age 40 b. NY. Living in the next house are Thomas Burdick age 49 farmer b. NY and Polly Burdick age 53 b. NY; also Henry L. Burdick 25 cooper b. NY & Roena L. Burdick age 17. So this would have been about a month before he died. Thomas & Polly are still in Lenox (Wampsville) in 1860, but Lydia is not living next door to them. On Ancestry.com there is a family tree that lists Henry & Lydia & says they died the same day. Don't know if it is an error or not. If I see anything else, I'll let you know. My grandmother's 2nd husband was Raymond Neal of DeRuyter, NY. His mother was Minnie B. Frink, so I might come across something in his scrapbooks about Lydia. Will post it on this website if I do. ----------------------------- Henry C. Burdick Birth: 14 May 1806 in [city], [county], NY, USA Death: 22 Sep 1850 in Lenox, Madison, NY, USA and Lydia Frink B:16 Jun 1810 D:22 Sep 1850 [city], [county], NY, USA ---------------------- Patricia Rowe Stone, Rochester, NY ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael" <sirreal53@jvlnet.com> To: <NYMADISO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 20, 2005 1:10 AM Subject: [NYMADISO] Frink/Burdick > > Does anyone have access to Madison county NY Census > information for 1840 and 1850? 3. Hey Listers~ Does anyone have access to Madison county NY Census information for 1840 and 1850? I'm trying to track down Henry C BURDICK's wife after he died 22 Sep 1850 in Brookfield. Wife Lydia FRINK (b 14 May 1806) seems to have disappeared after Henry died. For the record, Henry was born 14 May 1806 in Brookfield. I have a suspicion she might have married before Henry and had children with a SUTTON because I THINK I find her in the 1870 and 1880 Census(es) in Michigan and I believe Kansas (LOL-senior moment). Lydia was the dau of Asa FRINK b 19 MAR 1769 CT d 25 AUG 1857 Brookfield NY and Anna HEALY b 4 APR 1779 d 8 APR 1858 Brookfield NY. I use heritage Quest Census data, and it does NOT include 1830 or 1840 data regularly. Anyone out there with a better Census read? Thanks folks~ Michael Burdick

    3. I am looking for info on these families. Edwad Wooley who d. 1834 was m. to Elizabeth Mott over 50 years. Dan as some info on this family on his wesite. I had some confusion as to where my Alma Woolley(Wooley) fi in as in a copy of "The memoirs of Edward Mott Wooley" (son of the above) his daughter inscribed a copy to "Aunt Alma." Well, I now know they were cousins. Alma Wooley (Galloway) was d/o Alfred (b. abt. 1785) and Polly Vail (b. abt. 1784) Woolley. Alma Woolley b. 29 May 1809 m. Thomas Galloway circa 1837. Both families had members that lived in Madison Co. and the border area of Onondaga Co. near Delphi Falls. Thanks for any additional info. Sharon

    1. 4 more town histories online
    2. Ray Brown
    3. I just added the last 4 town hisotries that I have for Madison County to my web site. These towns are: De Ruter, Eaton, Smithfield and Stockbridge. Like the other towns they list a lot of the early people in town and things like who ran what businesses, list of Supervisors, Ect. These probably will not make more connections for most of you but when you know who you are looking for can add some details about them that you may not have had before, as well as a lot of info about the towns. http://www.rays-place.com If you think that you see a spelling error in one of these I have the origional copies from the book in PDF files at: http://history.rays-place.com/ny/madison/ If you do see one can you make a copy of the paragraph and make the correction and send that to me off of the list? That would help others looking at thses later. I can only leave the PDF files there for a couple weeks as I will need the web space for other pages. Should you be interested in a town in another County and would be willing to type it up please let me know off the list. No guaranties, but I may be able to get the town that you are looking for. The towns in Essex, Fulton, Jefferson and Oswego Counties that are not at the web site I have in PDF files, these town histories are all about the same in structure as the ones that I have online for the Counties. If at a later date I can get some good Bio's of people from these towns I will add them like I did for Tioga County. Those are good ones, that list both parents of the people in them, and in some families you can trace 2 to 4 geneation. Wish that there were more like those to post. http://www.rays-place.com Cheers Ray Brown

    3. Thanks for getting Hawks Cem. on line, Tim. Rufus & Sara Moody are listed and they are my husband's 2nd gr-grandparents. I did not have dates of death or burial places for them or their son, Rufus Jr. The cemetery record has Rufus Jr.'s date of birth as 1885. I have it as May 1872 as listed on the 1900 census. I have Sara's name spelled Sarah and her maiden name was Shoots. I don't know names of parents for Sara/Sarah or Rufus, Sr. so if anyone has this info, it would be appreciated. 3. Tim Thank you verry much, don't know what I was thinking of when I did that. Just put the corrected page online.
