    3. I did get my last message. Now this is my question. Does anyone know if there are records on the Second and Third Baptist church which joined together. I am most interested in some of its members who were Sarah and Jason MILLER and Zadock Beebe. Hope to hear from someone who may have interest in this church or the mentioned people. Thank you, Nana RUTHERFORD Redell

    3. Tim, You are right when you said Rt 316, but the Rt 31, on the northern end of 316 runs along the south side of Oneida Lake. So the cemetery is about at the intersection of 31 and 316. The southern end of 316 is its junction with rt. 46, just out of Oneida. 3. Hi, Michael, We visited the Smitheld /Peterboro exhibit at MCHS today. Apparently they had quite a big crowd on opening day Sunday to hear the speakers, etc. MCHS features one of the towns of the county, and change to another every few months. It was one of the best displays I have seen. So much historical information, and so well displayed. They had such things as pictures of people, buildings, places, and scenes; A notebook full of Smithfield vets for each war; a gazetteer of all the old-names corners, crossroads, ponds, falls(picture of Hoffman Falls) and stuff you never heard of; a scrapbook of clippings and info on ww2 vets; information on Garret Smith and the Millers; history of Siloam cemetery and the church; picture gallery of old Smithfield citizens; a "friendship quilt signed by the individual quilters who made it and a story about how it came up for sale in Vt. and the story of tracking it down to its hometown and identifying the quilters; A notebook on the glass factories; pictures and story of the Home for Destitue Children "orphan home". These are some of the things there. Interesting to one familiar with the area! I lived in Smithfield for about ten years and still live nearby. Donna Burdick and her helpers are to be congratulated for a fine job. Anyone who lives near enough, is invited to visit it in the next month and probably through March. And if you would like any more infomation on any of it, I'm sure Donna would be glad to answer you. Chas

    3. Hello to all I've taken on a small (HA! COUGH!) project lately... I have no idea if anyone else has taken an interest in this small book found at Heritage Quest, but I just chug along... Heman Howes Sanford wrote a book on William Sanford, of Tiverton, RI, back in the late 1890s, and I've decided to make a gedcom out of it. William was an early arrivee to the Madison area, along with the Peckhams, Simmonses, as well as others out of Rhode Island. I have a pretty good start on the project and am up to about 450 names - the database is online now, at WorldConnect, if you are interested. The name of the database to look for is "solsville" (kinda fitting, I guess, since there is quite a bit mentioned of the little berg.) There are probably a couple of notes I need to mention, regarding this database. First off, I didn't do any further research on these people, so the information is pretty much as it was in 1898, when the book was published. There were a few small mistakes in dates, which I took the liberty of "fixing" and feel pretty sure that my corrections are honest, at least. Another interesting entry that I did investigate a little bit was for one "Frank Lewis", who married Edward Johnson... Needless to say, I had to go into; "And this is my lovely wife, Frank..." a few times before I could stop laughing long enough to look at some other census images... Frank, you will find, has a note attached, contending that possibly her proper given name was Francelia... I guess she had an Aunt Irving, who was married to Uncle Ethel - yada yada... Anyway... all in good fun. And the last note is... once I am done converting this information, I am not going to go any further with it, unless it relates to my main tree somehow. To make things a little simpler, if you are interested, this will take you to the first page of the database: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=SHOW&db=solsville&recno=0 Hope this finds you all well and in good spirits, and keeping warm. My ancestor was the only brother from the family of Beeman's there that moved away. He came to Michigan and raised his family there and only went back to NY once I guess. I have been searching for info. on them for years. My grandmother's Father was a Beeman and he died very young, my grandma was on 8 yrs. old. So his wife remarried and then the family never knew anything about the Beeman's. What a treat to see the Beeman's there. I would love to hear from them if any of them have email or would like to snail mail. I would like to share with them. My James Beeman was married to Caroline Case, their son Franklin was my gr-gr-grandfather and the one that moved to Michigan. He was married twice that we know of Elnora Clymer & Mary Root, this all took place in Michigan as he moved there single. I was able to meet up with a Case relative that shared some info. with me. 3. Hi, Listers, I realize this is not the usual subject for this list, but here it is. A school girl in Indonesia contacted me after finding my web site, and asked if I knew of any people in America who would write by e mail to her. She is learning English in school and thinks letters writing would help her to learn. We have corresponed several times, until I am quite sure it is all on the up-and-up. ( I'm always leery about letters from unknown's from out of the country). If any of you would be interested in corresponding with her (or have school age kids who would be interested) I'll send you her e mail address off line. She missed harm from the big wave. Lives in East Java island. First name is Elfian. I would like to see her get quite a few letters. Chas

    3. There was a Rachel Beeman who married Richard Lower in the Town of Sullivan, Madison County NY and I believe she may have had a brother named Marcus. Anyway, Rachel & Richard moved to Racine Wisc back in the 1800's, but some of their family (the Lower side anyway), settled in Michigan. There was also Sullivan Lower and Madison Lower in their family. Maybe yours connect with them somehow! Good Luck in Your Search, Carol P.S. I still live in the Town of Sullivan and was at the home of one of the life-time Beeman's tonight!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Beth Comstock" <bethsroots@verizon.net> To: <NYMADISO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 28, 2005 4:09 PM Subject: [NYMADISO] Beeman - Clark - French > Hi there, > > Wondering if anyone might know anything about this family. I am trying to find a Sylvia Ann Beeman. She was born about 1837 in New York and died March 18, 1910 in LaSalle, Monroe Co., Michigan. She was married to Joseph Clark. He was born October 1828 in New York and died March 1, 1877 in LaSalle, Monroe Co., Michigan. > > I have Joseph's parents as William Stymson Clark & Mary Jane French. I am hoping to find out anything on any of these people. I don't know who Sylvia parent's are and have another Beeman line from Madison Co. I would like to tie together. the other line I have is Sylvia & Joseph's daughter Signora married Marcus Melzo Beeman, son of James Beeman & Caroline Case from Sullivan, Madison Co., New York. I can't seem to find anything on Sylvia about her parents yet. > > Sylvia & Joseph's children are Edward, Robert, Signora, Minerva, Charles, Almina, Sarah Addie, Katie and Lottie. > I have these names from census'. I have them in LaSalle married in 1860 and am trying to find them in New York. 3. Beth Do you think the following could be "yours." 1855 Census (index only), Town of Sullivan: Joseph Clark, 28, husb., resident of town 1 yr., b. Madison Co., boatman Ann Clark, 19, wife, resident of town 19 yrs., b. Madison Co. Edward Clark, 1, child, resident of town 1 yr., b. Madison Co. living with them were: Edward Beemon, 22, husb., resident of town 22 yrs., b. Madison Co., farmer Lany Beemon, 15, wife, resident of town 15 yrs., b. Madison Co. I also have a listing for the family of James Beemon, age 37, his wife Caroline, and their 7 children in the town of Sullivan. And also in Sullivan, there is a John Beemon, age 60, wife Catherine, and 2 children. I didn't know if you had to this "odd-year" census; let me know if you want the complete info. on the Beemon listings.
